The first marsh harrier of the programme was equipped this spring on the island of Ouessant, far west Bretagne! It’s a female that nests near the Créac’h lighthouse and frequents the grazed moorland at the Pointe de Pern. We hope to discover its winter movements, perhaps migratory, as harriers are known to be able to cross large inlets or seas. The species is, for example, regularly seen migrating over the Gulf of Lion in the Mediterranean.
