Snipe N°15 fitted with a 3.2g GPS in South Finistère in March 2024, set off on a migration. It began by crossing the English Channel at very low altitude to about 25km off the Irish coast, where it gained height.
The crossing lasted a whole night, from 10pm to 7am, before arriving in Ireland. After a day’s halt near the Hook Head lighthouse, “Bécassine” set off again for another night of high altitude migration overland, which will take her…? To be continued…
